White Berries

I spied these white berries whilst out walking Milly this afternoon :)

I remember them from my childhood & so does Mr W - he remembered that they made a loud 'popping' noise when you stamped on them!!

Tried Goggling what they are - maybe Snowberries?! Does anyone know for sure :)
