In bud
A white king protea, Protea cyneroides, Arctic Ice, in our garden. They are magnificent in flower, so watch this spot! If the weather doesn't damage them too much, I will blip one in a week or so's time. King protea flowers are robust, though, presumably to withstand the strong, coastal winds that frequently blast the Cape Region of South Africa, their home territory. They are also adapted to withstand fire, being able to re-sprout from buds on an underground stem. So in a garden situation they respond well to severe pruning.
I haven't come across any South African's on Blip yet, presumably there are some?
