Hubby and I drove to his sister’s place at lunchtime. It was pretty hot out so we didn’t do much until the evening when we went to Frankston for fish and chips on the beach. Surprisingly, we couldn’t find any close to the beach so we went to Waves on the Beach. All the indoor air conditioned tables were booked (not surprisingly) so we sat out on the balcony with little shade. It was not for long, however, as the sun went down in a stunning display. We did manage to cool down with a jug of Aperol Spritzer (see extra) which were, appropriately, the same colour as the sky. These were very popular in Austria a couple of years ago but I have never seen them served by the jug. The fish (flathead tails) and chips were delicious as well. It would have been nice to have a dip with the hundreds of other people in the water but we had to go back to watch the AO tennis final.
