Dawn's early light
We spent the night in Ca' di Bati. It was fairly toasty in the back bedroom with the fire roaring but the kitchen is like a fridge.
A fine day of logging (see extra of self manfully holding gut in and modelling red work gloves taken by Boss). Compare wood pile growth with two days back.
A slight mishap on the road home. A detour led us into a very muddy 'white road' that threatened to entomb the Clio in clay. The bottom shield - already broken - got twisted on the high central ridge and on our retrun to a fully metalled road it sounded as if we were dragging half a vineyard behind us. My trusty Leatherman - found on Sennen beach in Cornwall - finally stripped off the dangling piece of hard plastic after I'd barked a knuckle and taken on a full dosage of clay. (In the summer the road was as hard as iron and more dust than clay). Ah well.
