Peeking through

Today's walk for the Sunday papers took us through the Black Spout Woods and over the Tummel to the Dundfallandy Stone. It stands beside a private graveyard belonging to the Fergussons of Dundfallandy.. The memorial glimpsed through the iron gate is that of Lieutenant-General Archibald Fergusson ‘the General’ (1755 -1834).

We then headed back to Pitlochry via the suspension bridge, bemoaning the number of padlocks which have been afixed to, and then through Bobbin Wood.

Papers have now been read and I am planning a couple of hours of genealogy before tea and getting the train back down to Edinburgh.
