She had a good day at festival today....

Her first class (recorder) was an age banded class and was a set piece. The adjudicator was very complimentary of her, impressed she could manage dotted rhythms and such..... she was blown away after Katies clarinet solo. She played a piece that was on the grade 6 syllabus til recently. The adjudicator admitted that when she saw what katie was playing she worried it would be too hard. But she said “I was wrong”. She described it as an absolutely outstanding performance and said that Katie has a stage presence that immediately endears her audience to her, a musicality that cant be taught and she can see that katie just feels music inside her. She called her a force to be reckoned with. And then called her weird for being able to play so well with no teeth!
