In for the Count

I thought I'd do my BTO Garden Birdwatch and my RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch concurrently, so I did them over breakfast. Mr PB kindly topped up the feeders. 
Tall chair for looking out of the window: check. 
Bowl of porridge: check. 
Drink: check. 
Phone with RSPB counter and timer: check. 
Camera: check. 
Binoculars: check. 
I set the timer going and within 2 minutes, our local Sparrowhawk had arrived and parked up on top of the feeders. He didn't stay too long, but his presence in the vicinity obviously meant that other birds stayed away until they were sure that the coast was clear. Later, a couple of Magpies, a Robin, a Woodpigeon and a few House Sparrows arrived to boost my total.
