High Tide
Another beautiful, sunny, windy day.
A very high tide at Heybridge on the River Blackwater - a good 2 ft higher than a usual high tide, I think. Dinghys that should have been sitting safely on their trolleys near the slipway in the sailing club were bouncing around in the waves, threatening to get loose and cause minor havoc. Summer houses that sit up over the water on stilts had the seawater lapping up to the floors.
Having been to the osteopath I feel as though I have been hit by a truck - she's a petite blonde 40 something who has fingers like heat seeking missiles - I go thinking I feel fine, and she will instantly put her fingers on the one incredibly sore place. I suppose its doing me good.
Only daughter is 17 tomorrow ! Scary thought, I don't often feel that much older than I did the day she was born. We were watching Billy Conollys World Tour, and I remember deciding that I needed my partner to pay attention to me, not the TV. She was born about 3 hrs later in our bedroom - came out with her eyes wide open, and not much has changed. Still has her eyes wide open, still determined to be first. Some good qualities.
