A Burst of Color

Since everything outside is so brown, I decided I needed this bright bouquet on my kitchen table.  Many thanks to BikerBear for hosting Flower Fridays!

At about 4 pm, Pipersdad came up from the laundry room and announced that the water heater has a puddle under it....not a huge puddle, but enough to know that there's a leak.  I called and left a message for a plumber who had been recommended to us in the past (but had never done work for us).  He called back within an hour and I told him what was going on and he said that he was close by and he would come over and take a look.  He was here in 5 minutes and spent half an hour checking everything and talking to us about options.  Unfortunately, we need a new unit but he had recommendations for us.  He can't do the installation until Wednesday so he suggested we call around and try to find someone to do it sooner after he spent all that time with us (at no charge).  We said that we wanted wait and have him do it.  What a great guy!   He showed us how to turn the water on and off and said to leave it off until we need hot water but then we can use it and turn it off again.  So it's really not that inconvenient to wait.  He said he was confident that the leak wouldn't get suddenly worse if we kept the valve closed.  I am grateful that we found someone willing to come right over on a Friday evening so we didn't have to spend the weekend worrying about it!
