At peace

I stood on the road outside Applecross just after midday looking out to sea as my dad ended his struggle and was at peace at last. There is no mobile reception in Applecross and their Internet is literally down due to last week's gales. It was only because it was a beautiful day and I went for a walk that I picked up a signal and got the message from Bluebird that he hadn't long and then minutes later that he'd gone.

Thanks to the Applecross community I'm now homeward bound. It will have taken over 8 hours and I'm not at the wedding but I need to be at home with the family. A sad day.
