a ladder sandwich

Same tree different lopper. The last tall branch is down, the pollarded trunk tidied and we will now wait to see if it sprouts growth, if not the rest comes down in a year to two. A few weeks ago we cleared part of this area, its much brighter although a mass of clearing up to do.
Note: We are surrounded by trees, plenty of perches and cover for all birds.

A strange day starting off with frost and sunshine, later a funeral of a man we didn’t know well. Fortunately we have a wonderful minister who did spend time with him in recent years and as always told us about the real person, warts and all, his family must have felt a warm glow within their sadness. The afternoon ended with rain, just as the two lumber jacks completed their task.
