One of Majorca's most famous sons

Today we drove across the island to link up with friends who are holidaying on the east coast.

On the way we stopped in the old town of Petra, birthplace of Father Junipero Serra, explorer, missionary and founder of the Californian missions from San Diego to San Francisco. Today's blip shows a statue of him in the square in Petra.

We also had some extremely nice apple pie and coffee at a cafe in the square!
