blipping and blogging

while I spend my time blipping, John spends his making complicated bits of engines and blogging about them. we were so amused by this that I have borrowed it for my blip today. spot the likeness with the chimenea through the window!!!

this is the rough core box for a bottle engine - no need to explain where the name comes from. his blip equivalent is a steam engine building forum. a chap in California wants to build one of these engines, but has been struggling, so John started to think about it and ended up drawing one out and is now starting to build it. this big chunk of iroko is actually to make a hole! it is all too complicated for me, it involves thinking in 3D and inside out apparently, but this is the bit john loves. there's complicated looking scaled up drawings all over the place. other people do crosswords to keep their brain active.
