Crocuses

Or should that be Croci?   I have grown up calling them croci.  A bit of an emergency blip today.  I called in on Kanyl after I had been to Sainsbury's.  I was surprised to see these as I walked up his drive.

Some of his Snowdrop collection aren't yet open and ours are barely showing.   I can understand ours being later as we are a few hundred feet higher. 

 I usually see my first crocus a while after the main show of Snowdrops.  I am wondering if these are in a bit of a micro climate as the spot is very sheltered.

I decided to move the piece of wood chip but the later photos were not in focus.  The lesson from that is don't rush just because it is raining!
