Poyntzfield House

A very calm start to the day.IsleMum picked me up and we went to Poyntzfield to see if the Winter Aconites and snowdrops had made an appearance yet. They were there but only just peeping out of the ground. We met the Herb Gardener coming through the stone arch way and told us he thought they would be out next week.He also let us in to the herb garden so we had a wander round. It reminds me of a programme I used to enjoy as a child called The Herbs :) I can hear some of you singing the songs now ;)
A short walk along muddy paths and we came across a pile of carrots discarded by the Snowmen, no longer needed.
Down to Udale bay where we chatted to a young man from the RSPB who was clearing the rubbish, so annoying that people think it’s ok to leave their cans, plastic bottles and cigarette packets behind ! Most of the birds were further out at the tides edge.
On past a very calm, mirror like Firth, beautiful. A stroll with the dogs along the harbour where a boat was billowing out smoke from it’s little chimney. Sparrows chirped on the piled up creels.
A delicious lunch , a BLT and a cup of tea and we shared a piece of chocolate and honeycombe cake at Cooper Creek.
Home and I cleared some more leaves and twigs that had blown around in yesterday’s wind.
A yummy dinner , haggis , neeps and some chicken with peppercorn sauce to celebrate Burns Night.A little poem by Burns in the extras.
