Binissalem

Our first stop in Majorca, where we enjoyed a great (and cheap) 3 course menu del dia lunch in the Placa de L'Esglesia with a number of locals and English ex-pats who I entertained by tipping slowly and gracefully backwards off my chair while attempting to take a blip of the fare on offer! This had nothing to do with alcohol, despite the fact that the town is famous for its wine, as this statue in the shadow of the church commemorates. We were a week too late for the fiesta that celebrates the wine harvest which, by all accounts of those we chatted to over lunch, is quite a party.
