Back to the drawing board
It is definitely good to take yourself outside your comfort zone from time to time. Last September I tried to enrol for an 'illustration' art class run by my local council, but the class booked up really quickly and I couldn't get a place. This term I made sure to apply in good time!
So last night I had my first class. I brought only paper and pencils, so wasn't able to complete the task properly, as we were meant to use water colour to capture the elephant from a photo. Saying that, I did see all the others' work and got tips on paper and paints to buy, as well as recommendations for one or two brushes. I've never tried to draw an elephant before but had time to fiddle and shade and finish off a drawing, if not a painting.
To my great joy I have discovered a small box of watercolours I had at home, still in wrappers! This is going to be fun!!
