Always the first

This small clump is always out first. Getting a pic was a challenge as it was dull and windy but a bit of fiddling with settings gave a reasonable pic. One seems to have been eaten.
I inherited some machine patchwork from my sister many years ago and decided it was time to try and get it out of the way so got out the machine this morning and made good progress. Not sure what I'll do with it when it's finished.
Had thought I would run up to running but didn't fancy 2 1/2 mile uphill against the wind so will take the car!
