History at sunset
History in the mountains especially Pukeone the maunga (mountain) that has looked down on the awa (river) and Te Maatu (big woods/forest) since time began.
I am more familiar with the history of the road running across the Moutere Estuary. Built in 1914 with horse, pick and shovel, as a quicker way to get to the new wharf, it has had very little work required on it since then other than being tarsealed. A walkway/cycleway runs beside it giving us access to the bird life right round the inlet.
A busy day with a visit from Lizimagiz. Where did two hours go Liz? We covered everything from politics, to Trump, to DNA, birds and dogs – oh and I think Blip may have had a mention too.
Then Trev and I went off to Richmond for an appointment, lunch and some shopping. At least the mall was cool.
After tea I thought getting a sunset photo by the marina might be cooler but so still it was only marginally better. A late blip for me.
Thanks to steveng the wide wednesday challenge master.
