button palace
my first backblip!
----------
i went to visit my aunt, Di Ut, in Saigon on Tuesday and came back today (Wednesday). Di Ut has her own clothing business, and i got to shadow her while she worked. she took me when she went to meet with clients, pick out fabrics, buttons, zippers, threads, and etc. it was a lot of market-visiting. one of the places we visited is a GIANT button palace. it has walls and walls and walls of buttons, stacked from the ground to the ceiling. so much buttons! it also has laces, ropes, ribbons, beads, patches, but man, so many buttons! i couldn't get a good shot of the buttons, but the beads were very colorful.
after Di Ut finished with her business, she took me to see Saigon at night. there were a lot of gawk at, but most of it involves shopping. the thing i really want to do was roam around in the park and eat all sort of junk food, but it was raining so we settled for an indoor ice cream cafe. but everything looks pretty at night! i can't wait to see the city from a tall building and roam around a park and eating junk food!
