Challenging Conditions
We ran out of electricity today - these foggy days have hidden the sun from our solar panels. Eventually, decided to go to Évora (almost an hour away) to buy a generator, but ended up having a meal at a new Brazilian place (rodízio of meats, black beans, farofa, Brazilian from Recife and Guinea-Bissauan waiters, so good), driving home through thick fog in the dark, and still not charged enough to pump water into the caravan - so have returned to the (freezing) flat for the night. Very grateful.
Stopped in Reguengos on the way, where we found a place that cuts glass - got a perfect 32cm circle cut for our new window. The nearby abandoned railway felt perfect for some attempts at Markus' minimalism challenge.
But then, the most beautiful scene at the side of the road, with a line of soft light under dark cloud. Utterly frustrated at not being able to capture it - have posted one attempt in extras - what was I doing wrong? Couldn't get both the soft foreground and the sun in the clouds. Maybe it's time I learned to shoot in raw??
