Film club night

Louth Film Club is lucky enough to be able to use one of the three screens at the local cinema every other Monday night. Tonight's showing was Neruda, a 2016 Chilean film about the popular poet (he won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971), diplomat and Communist Senator. The film was set in 1948 when he was forced into hiding and exile.
Watching the film is a necessary precursor to discussions in Cobbles bar.
Someone told us of a friend who had committed to Dry January. It was going well, apparently; he hadn't wet himself even once.
