A Lurch Off the Perch

It was a real Sunday dilemma. Watch the football playoffs, or go shoot some birds. I split the difference. I stayed out at the shore, then timed it to be home at halftime of the first game.

For a different Giant Egret, I spent 41 minutes waiting for it to fly away. (It never did. I finally left.) For this guy, not so long. He was worried about what was happening a short distance away...so off he flew after 5-6 minutes.

For the first time since the middle of September, I had enough good pictures to have a Flickr set. Have a look if you are so inclined. It was a tough blip pick for me, but I always like fliers.
