Lady Sage Days

Page from the Plan

Just a page showing that they can use the hoist. When the carers arrive some who look for the care plan inside the folder can't seem to locate it.
I think this page is part of it.

This morning the carer was back who had been the one to put the pad on the wrong way round. She learned the right way today and was calmer.
However I think she has a set image in her mind of what a dementia person is like and started treating and talking to mum like a baby.
Yesterday she got her little lamb comfort thing (sounds childish but is more comfort than toy) and started making out that she was going to take it away with her which would have upset mum and I could see concern on her face.

Today she got this lamb and started pushing it into mum's face saying 'Would you like a kiss, he'd like a kiss'. Well mum really gave this woman a piece of her mind but it wasn't coherent. The carer knew something from the tone and said 'oh are you marking my card'.
Mum has said to me in the past 'I'm not a child' if I've ever done it, I don't any more.

I think people need to realise these patients aren't children with dementia they are adults with dementia.

Again tonight, just a moment ago the carer who arrived alone did something taking the duvet off that made mum shout out 'OW'.

I think they pull the duvet out of her hands and are breaking her nails.
If they just spoke to her calmly she'd part with it, it just takes patience.

Really don't like this guy turning up on his own either. He's done it before and just hangs around. It's unnerving.
