Peacocks

Sorting out things for the sale next week, I came across this peacock feather. I've lots of feather fans, but this is a solitary feather.
The peacock is the national bird of India and they are often to be found in large flocks. The males displaying and both sexes screeching at full volume. The most amazing thing though is watching them fly high up into the palm trees. They don't look as if they should be able to get off the ground let alone fly! Like swans, they don't land very gracefully either!
The eyes on their tail feathers are all different and the colours so vibrant even on a dreich January day in Scotland.
