A Fahrenheit Life

Low Newton-by-the-Sea

Well, when I say it was raining this morning I mean it was raining. Back home, ten hours later, my jeans are still wet.

Anyway, not to be put off by a bit of inclement weather, we set off after breakfast for a tramp overland to Low Newton-by-the-Sea, nipping into The Ship Inn for a coffee and some heat from the log fire to our soaking wet bahoochies.

A quick chat-up line to a local council officer secured a lift back to the cottage, on the proviso that we primly parked our wet behinds on an opened bin liner bag over his bench seats.

The weather did however clear-up mid afternoon once we'd made our way into Alnwick for bit of a mooch about and a stop-off at one of the various local tea shops. Indeed, the sun came out and set some magnificent scenes against a still-black and cloudy sky.

Back home, having driven up the road under a beautiful sunset sky, I see there are again severe weather warnings for tomorrow..
