Tinker, Tailor, Jewellery Maker

Last year Danny bought me a day with Cyd (our doula for Nate's birth) making a piece of jewellery! Her family background is in silver and she has a brilliant studio in her garden. 
So Danny had the kids and Cyd & I set to work making a silver ring. She was brilliant as she got me doing everything! Her studio was amazing, so much to look at, lots of interesting things around. 
Anyway I've made a wide hammered silver ring, and done everything from cutting the initial piece of silver, to heating it, to hammering it, to shaping it, to soldering it, to filing it, to polishing it! I love it! And it was brilliant to spend the day with Cyd too...we caught up on all sorts & she made us a delicious lunch as well!

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Danny having the kids all day! I felt like that was part of the gift really...not only the jewellery class!
2) Time with Cyd...such an interesting and creative woman. 
3) Lemon and ginger tea...I'm feeling a touch under the weather.
