People coming and going (and Pandas coming)

Me and hubby had after work drinks in Moro Skybar, in the picture is bird's-eye view to Tampere railway station.

The much awaited Ähtäri Zoo’s borrowed panda couple arrived in Finland yesterday. Media reports their long journey went well. The two pandas have been given Finnish names. Hua Bao (a four-year old male) will be known as Pyry (snowfall) and Jin Baobao ( three-year old female)  been named Lumi (snow). Their original Chinese names will be preserved, but the zoo wants the newcomers to have Finnish names that will be easy for Finns to remember.

Weather conditions in Finland are similar to the mammals' natural living environment in China's mountain areas. The two pandas  eat 40 kilograms of bamboo every day. Ähtari zoo has signed a 10-year deal with a Dutch agricultural company that will provide 22 different kinds of bamboo.

I don't know what to think about shipping those pandas here, I hope they'll be happy.
