Oldest pub sign?
Out with the Wild Walkers this morning and lunch here beneath what may be the oldest pub sign in England.
Apparently made around 1415 it depicts a swan with a coronet chained to a tree, part of the arms of Cloely Duchess of York wife of Richard to whom Edward IV gave the castle and honour of Clare in her dowry.
Back home and time for a second coat on the ceiling before heading off to the flics for Winston Churchill.
