2018 Thursday — “Licking Bowls”

This afternoon while walking through the Cost Plus, World Market, I noticed this bowl.

I just couldn’t resist snagging a photo. As a kid, heck as an adult, I have loved scraping and licking the bowl when making cookies, brownies, cake, cornbread, or you-name-it! So this slogan states it slightly different; it leaves out the “scraping” part.

Nowadays there are so many warnings about not eating raw dough that I don’t often ”lick,” but I sure want to.

Today we were going to make this a “thrift store day.” I wanted to go as far as the community of Nipomo, where there are a few thrift stores I’d like to browse through. I made the mistake of saying “yes” to Mr. Fun when he asked if he could go too.

Our first stop was going to be Walmart in Arroyo Grande. I needed a couple things in their pharmacy department. I realized all too quickly that Mr. Fun was “hunting,” and I was ready to turn around and head back to Cayucos. I wanted to spend the day out-and-about simply browsing. We did spend the day out, but it wasn’t what I had anticipated.

I think sometimes we just need a day away from each other. So there’s always next week.

P.S. When we drove back to the coast late this afternoon, the clouds had settled on the ground fog-like and rain is forecast for later tonight.
