Baleen plates
Trip to the Natural History Museum in London today. We were taking a little boy to see the dinosaurs but I loved the room full of marine animals, including this skeleton of a whale. I knew they were big but their size totally blew me away! These huge mammals are filter feeders and live off the plankton in the water- filtered through these special plates in their mouths.
