The Winner Is

This Eider one his battle with a Herring Gull for his lunch. 

On  my lunch-time walk to the harbour I spotted a Herring Gull up on the pier looking around at which point this Eider surfaced with crab in mouth (extra). The Gull immediately dived towards the Eider who dived below the surface. At this point I have a vision of the Eider staring upwards to the surface trying to see where the  Gull was.  He surfaced far enough away that he was able to down the crab in one go and then turn round to face the Gull and flap his wings in his face as if to say "my catch  my lunch"
