Narumi Festival
Himuro Yoshiteru - End of Day
The day was spent recovering for a heavy night of partying but with good friends watching horror films. At my friend's home city there was the Narumi Festival where carts from parts of the city held many lanterns and were being pushed around in beautiful fashion. There are many kids and people on each of the carts playing music whilst many others are pushing and pulling them around the city.
The city is famous for being a major stopping point on the long trade road (The Tokaido Main Road) connecting Tokyo and Kyoto developed by the first Shogunate, Tokugawa Ieyasu. Narumi has many historical and religious sites that give it much character. It was a wonderful day with wonderful friends.
