Nothing happens here...

Sunny day!

Bitterly cold in Newcastle and a gusty wind but the snow stayed away.  The blue skies made for a lovely pic of the Millennium Bridge and  a restored fishing boat on the Newcastle Quayside of the River Tyne.

The drama queens on TV will have to find something else to scare us with on this evening's news.  Have you noticed the last two sessions of gales have not been given storm names?  Not that it's stopped the irresponsible media for trying to make it sound like the end of the world.  They talked last evening of blizzards and gales and we had them, but what they didn't say was that these (worst possible scenarios) were expected up at Tow Law (1003 feet above sea level - population 2,138) and they were broadcasting to a region of 2 million worried souls most of them living 25 miles from there.  You only have to check the Daily Mail pictures on their website to see how misleading such broad brush statements can be.
