Fire

Coming out of Tower Hill station this morning the air was full of dark, dense smoke. I followed the trail to a large brazier, recently lit for roasting chestnuts.

The owner of the stand was keen enough to let me put my head in the fire and confessed to having tried to photograph fire and smoke himself, which not much success.

On the way back from lunch I stopped to buy a bag of his toasted nuts... delicious... the taste of winter in London.
