Art crisis

today i realised that my art was starting to drag and bore me, and i realised its because it was never really my idea in the first place. I mentioned it in passing, and all three of my lecturers jumped on the idea and pushed me towards it. Whereas in all honesty i would rather work on things which i deemed more worthwhile and that actually involved some painting ability rather than this abstract stuff i've been working on, which i've always felt was an escape route for people who couldn't really paint and would sell themselves out. I don't really want to sell myself out already, especially when i'm not even making any money of it yet!
I think i will keep the dice thing going, but incorporate actual images (..maybe portraits).
Lets just see how it goes eh?
Doubt my lecturers will agree, but i think sometimes you just have to stand up for your principals.
