Dolly and Kiki at the vet

I had Kiki up at the vet this evening, unfortunately her usual vet was off sick, hopefully she'll be back soon! The other vet, Beverly, we saw is very good too and she got a good look in her mouth, she thinks the pus is definitely around the bottom right tooth, which would be consistent with where her abscess is! We had a good chat about the various options, we've added in a new oral antibiotic to see if the combination of the two helps! Hopefully it will, the next option would be surgery, we're not there yet though, which is good! Surgery is risky, although there is apparently a new anaesthetic protocol for rabbits using a new drug that has some good results! Beverly had been on a rabbit CPD about it, its good to have a practice full of vets who are always keeping their knowledge and skills up to date! I got Kiki home and we tried out the new Snugglesafe I bought for her! It's a special heat pad for animals that you microwave, Kiki seems to like it, I found her and Hubert snuggled up next to it!
