A puzzle

Thought it'd be a good idea to get out for a run this evening, I just didn't realise how chilly it was - 5 degrees my trusty friend strapped to my arm told me. Only one thing for it then, keep running, and keep running faster each km. I was warmer by the end, but it meant that I didn't have too much left for anything else this evening.
