Birthday Girl

If she is looking a little overwhelmed, it's probably because about 40 people are across the table cheering her on.  If you have ever been in a New York City apartment, you will know that having 40 people in it would overwhelm just about anyone.   All in all, it was a great party, and she was adorably cute.  

We had given her parents "Alexa" recently, and she just loves the fact that Alexa plays any song on demand.  If you don't know who Alexa is, she is the digital assistant built into Amazon Echo speaker and microphone system. Hailey can't quite say "Alexa" yet, but she can point to it and makes the appropriate hand signals so we know which song she wants. After Happy Birthday was sung and the candle was blown out, she was placed in her high chair and given a cupcake.  Some one requested that Alexa play "If you are Happy and You Know it, Clap your Hands" and we all sang.  She proceeded to be extraordinarily delightful by rocking her shoulders, shaking her tush and doing all the motions appropriately.  And can you believe, we were all so busy watching her and singing, not one person made a video!  It was such a gorgeous spontaneous moment.   I have loaded an extra of her with her first cupcake, which she didn't seem to care for much, so Mom put some raspberries on her tray and she quickly devoured those. 

I took all the photos without a flash, and have been bedeviled trying to fix the white balance.
