Scaffold

Building scaffolding around a house on a slope with many different levels and protruding porches, balconies and a loggia is no easy feat. It will eventually be a metre above the roof line.

I went to the local chainsaw guy - Simone - and finally bought my Christmas present. A used Husqvarna 353, saw boots, 5 litres of synthetic fuel mix and 5l of biodegradable chain oil. Such an Aladdin's cave of kit. Some hand forged splitting wedges caught my eye for my next visit. Although I was actually down there later to get my wheelbarrow wheel fixed.

A late start splitting the felled and sawn Leylandii. Tough work with all those branches. I should have bought the splitting wedges to replace the cheap ones I have.

I was waiting for the builders to call it a day before I did but they went right on into the gloaming trying to sort out a particular puzzle for the scaffolding.

Still wood is wood, even Leylandii.
