Mr. Buck
I had a lovely chat with my sister this morning (who lives in Winnipeg) and I said I had to go as I was taking my daughter to the woods so she could complete her last video for one of her art courses. My sister said, "You would have a lot more time to dedicate to selling your photos if you didn't insist on going out to take more all the time, you know?" I replied that she missed the point of why I take photos...it has nothing to do with earning extra money, it is all about the pure joy of taking a photo that speaks to me. That fills my cup of happiness. And today...that cup runneth over!!
My daughter was a real trooper and never complained about the cold and all the walking. When we were in the meadow, I could see a few deer and suggested we go closer. She was not quite sure as she believed she had enough footage to work with and would rather go home. Humour me, I said. So we walked through the meadow (and saw three meadow voles!) and came upon an entire herd of deer. A number of 2 pointers and then this magnificent buck was standing off to the side!!
When a pair of men came along with dogs (which are prohibited..grrrr), the deer decided to make a run for the protection of the woods. See extra for the buck bounding and my daughter looking rather cold.
I am beyond thrilled as the bucks will be losing their antlers soon. This is the first time I have managed to photograph one. YAY!!! :D It doesn't get much better then this : ))
Cheers!
