Left behind

Harvest has been difficult around here.

The wet weather left the fields quagmires. Tractor wheels stuck in the morass and harvesters wrecked in the slough. Weeks later than normal the fields were tackled but it was too late, the ears are dark with fungus.

In every plot stands have been left to feed the birds, but I don't think they are fit even for pigeons.

No doubt bread will go up this autumn.
