Exploding Chestnuts

We had a very fun evening (despite the minor explosion caused by chestnuts) with neighbours around our woodburner and enjoyed an impromptu concert. We sang "How Great Thou Art" to them in kurdish which led to interesting discussions. I managed to persuade one of the ladies to eat a banana stuffed with chocolate. She said it would kill her but amazingly tried it (people are very close minded here to trying new things) and liked it. I'll never let her forget that when she's next rude about my food (which she always is)!
