No man is an island

Just one important thing today - the memorial ceremony for our colleague who died just before Christmas. The Playfair Library was packed - I was standing at the back of the seated area - behind me were probably another 500 people crammed together and standing throughout.
It was such a wonderful ceremony and the eulogies from his son and a family friend were spot on and incredibly moving. There was a tangible sense of the depth of appreciation, affection and respect in which he was held and such a feeling of loss.
His son said J always told him and his siblings to be 'compassionate, curious, and to do what they love'. Good advice
