Why?

Why is it that when you don’t have your camera with you the birds are all there, posing, and when you have it they are nowhere to be seen?
I was working out today, so just had my mobile phone and there were seagulls, ducks, herons, egrets, cormorants, moorhens and also nutrias! :-(
Yesterday it snowed on the mountains. We can just see some white, but there are low clouds hiding the tops.
