Komodo Island

  Today we arrived at Komodo Island, for many the highlight of this tour: this National Park can only be visited if you are on an approved guided tour and because the  dragons can smell blood, certain categories of visitor are not permitted on the island.  Not surprisingly, meat, or meat based snacks are banned!

Not every group of visitors are lucky enough to see these remarkable creatures, but I'm thrilled to say that we were.  As they do a good job of camouflaging themselves against their terrain, I can't say that on the face of it, this looks like the most exciting picture I've ever posted but my main pic had to be a dragon!
The island itself is stunningly beautiful and my extra shows a shot from our ship, one of the spectacular views that greeted us when we woke this morning.
