Pumpkin Patch Madness
I heard that Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center is THE place to go for pumkins in the county. I also heard that it can get crowded and it was reccomended that we arrive early. Holy moley, that was so true. This place was a ZOO.
We arrived 15 minutes after opening and the parking lot was half full and traffic was starting to back up on the one-lane highway (two hours later when we left it was backed up almost 4 miles).
Oh well, it was still a good experience (although not one I feel the need to do again for a few years) . . . lots of pumkins, cute little critters like sheep, chickens, llamas and goats to look at, a "country store" with quaint knick knacks . . . and a TON of people taking photos . . . like us!
It was 92 degrees (should be illegal to be that hot in October) but Alana wore the pumpkin hat I knitted for her like a sweetie for a few photos. She didn't seem that interested in the pumpkins, mostly she just wanted to push her stroller around. Oh well.
