Ananda Fish

On the outskirts of Bangkok, there is a magical place called 'Ancient Siam'. It is a huge park set in a natural environment made of ponds, lakes and canals, where some of the major Siamese landmarks have either been recreated or simply moved to. The park is shaped on a gigantic map of Thailand. It can only be visited by bicycles or an electric golf cart.

Today's blip evokes the myth of the Ananda Fish of the Cosmic Ocean.
I didn't write the following story. I simply added information collected on the spot.
“According to Thai cosmology, Sumeru Mountain is considered the pillar of the world as well as the center of the universe. The mountain, supported by Ananda fish, stays above the surface of the water. It is the residence of spirits ranging from deities in heaven to devils in hell. Each of them is distinguished by wisdom and morality.
On the top of the lofty mountain is the heaven called Tavatimsa, where Trai Trueng City is located.

Sumeru Mountain is surrounded by an ocean called Nathi Si Thandorn. It is believed that under the ocean is the abode of Nagas, while deep under this level are Asuras (demons). There are also many gigantic water creatures living in the ocean. Ananda fish is among them (but there are seven cosmic fishes in the ocean). Ancient people believed that once the fish wriggles or turns its body, earthquakes will erupt.”
