The Savoy

I'm here to photograph Andrew McCarthy, former Hollywood movie actor and star of St Elmo's Fire.

He is now a travel writer, working for The National Geographic.

With a new book out the Sunday Times are interviewing him and I take his snap in a room adjoining the River Restaurant.

Colin his PR described him as being quiet and self contained. This was very accurate. Andrew is of the gentles, friendliest and most unassuming celebs I've ever photographed.

On the subject of the Savoy refit. The paintings are all specially commissioned and designed to give the illusion of age. On inspection they are very slap dash.
