Pub Sign No. 2
This pub is on the edge of Keighley town centre. It has long intrigued me.
I assumed the name was a play on the word 'persevere' - but no - there was a Keighley professional boxer called Percy Vear - well Herman Vear actually. He boxed under the name of Percy Vear in the 1920s and 30s with moderate success.
The pub used to be called 'The Friendly' and was a Timothy Taylor's pub for over 100 years. In 2012 it was bought by Percy's grandson and now operates as a succesful Real Ale House.
I didn't have time to venture inside - my extra is the external view.
